Carlos Santana has been a prolific composer over his career. I’ve long found it interesting that one of his more famous songs is really two songs, both written by less famous folks.

‘Black Magic Woman’ as performed by Santana is really that song, written by Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac’s blues rock days, plus a very different arrangement of ‘Gypsy Queen’, a jazz tune written and recorded in the 60s by Hungarian guitarist Gabor Szabo.
